The Big Picture Over a decade after it was first released, Pacific Rim continues to be a titan in the genre, remaining unparalleled among live-action kaiju movies for its combination of stunningly immersive visual effects and satisfyingly gluttonous action sequences. One of the first things I did is make it a point to not check any old movies or any other references. Like start from scratch.”
