An appearance from the First Minister at the Edinburgh Book Festival was cut short after a woman started berating him from the audience.
John Swinney was heckled during a Fringe show last night over the meeting between a Scottish Government minister and an Israeli diplomat.
She accused the Scottish Government of giving money through Scottish Enterprise to companies "complicit" in Gaza. The External Affairs Secretary insisted the meeting was "right" to communicate the Scottish Government’s opposition to the conflict in Gaza. But he said issues which did not relate to the war were raised by Grudsky - including energy, tourism and economic co-operation.The SNP MSP has faced criticism from within his own Holyrood party, with veteran MSP Christine Grahame describing his position as a “liability”.
