Burma, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, was a birthday present to John McCain years ago and was 'absolutely and truly devoted to him,' his daughter wrote.
John McCain's dog, Burma, who was a constant companion to the late senator during his final months at the family home near Sedona, has died in a"tragic accident."
"To all who loved our dear Burma," Cindy McCain wrote in an Instagram post. "She died today in a tragic accident at our beloved Hidden Valley. She now frolicking with the one she loved most in heaven now."McCain posted videos on Twitter of her leaping into the creek to fetch a toy and she could be romping around in the background of a CBS 60 Minutes interview following his cancer diagnosis.
