Family, friends, faculty, in fact, the entire world waited for answers — waited for someone to come forward and explain why terrified, screaming children holed up in a classroom with a killer had to wait so long for someone to come to their rescue. Last month, a grand jury indicted former Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District police Chief Pete Arredondo and another former district officer on child endangerment charges.Earlier this month, a state district court judge finally ordered the school district and Uvalde County to release records related to the shooting.
