John Fury claims Tyson Fury is set to weigh in a stone lighter for his fight against Dillian Whyte than he did against Deontay Wilder
Fury was 19st 11lbs against Wilder last time out, but his father says he will be around 18st 11lbs for WhyteHe was three stone heavier than Wilder, and used this size and strength advantage effectively to control the smaller man.
In the build-up to the Whyte fight, there have been two schools of thought as to how the champion may prepare.Some have suggested could come in heavy again to fight fire with fire, while others have claimed it would be wiser for him to lose some weight and revert to the fleet-footed boxing tactics displayed earlier in his career.Fury’s trainer SugarHill Steward has insisted they will be pursuing a knockout, so John Fury’s comments about his son’s weight are somewhat surprising.
During the open workout on Tuesday, John said on the Queensberry Promotions live stream: “He’s a bit lighter to tell you the truth, than his last fight, yeah.Regarding why this is, Fury Sr refused to give anything away tactically, but added: “He’s worked hard in this camp, he’s probably worked harder in this camp than any other.
