John Carroll University’s St. Francis Chapel filled its capacity Wednesday for a noon mass to honor the late Pope Francis.
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio -
“Being in the chapel was a great opportunity to come together as a John Carroll community,” added second-year Carson Essad. “He was the first Jesuit pope, and I think he was a wonderful leader,” said professor of theology Father Jim Bretzke. “He surprised us at a meeting I was at in Rome, he came and joined us for about 2 hours,” he explained. “He was very generous with his time, and he was very deep and insightful, but also very funny. People don’t know that Pope Francis was very funny.”
