John Carroll University is expanding its arts programming, partnering with Ensemble Theatre Cleveland for the 2025-2026 season. The collaboration will bring two productions to JCU’s Marinello Little Theater. Ensemble Theatre’s season kicks off with “Henrik Ibsen’s Enemy of the People: A Rust-Belt Adaptation,” by Les Hunter, running from February 7–23. This adaptation, set in a mid-sized Rust Belt city, explores timeless questions about truth, power, and societal values.
“Heisenberg” takes place in a bustling London train station and is an intimate drama exploring the transformative impact of an unexpected encounter between two strangers. John Carroll is also investing in other arts initiatives, including new arts-focused classes, such as jewelry making and theater courses taught by Ensemble Theatre’s Executive Artistic Director, Celeste Cosentino. The University is also expanding arts programming through workshops on topics like puppetry, iPhone movie making, and indie rock music. Additionally, JCU recently hired Amy Payne as its assistant director of student engagement for the arts, a role dedicated to fostering creative opportunities and enhancing the campus arts culture
