Bolton slammed Trump for saying that military leaders don’t like him because they want to appease defense manufacturers and he’s keeping the U.S. out of wars.
, the president held a wide-ranging, meandering press conference where he took a shot at those leading the military.
“I’m not saying the military’s in love with me,” Trump said. “The soldiers are. The top people in the Pentagon probably aren’t because they want to do nothing but fight wars so that all of those wonderful companies that make the bombs and make the planes and make everything else stay happy.” “Now, with respect to what people at the Pentagon think, and I think this is important,” Bolton said in response, “Apart from being incoherent, Elizabeth Warren really couldn’t have said it better.”
When the report about Trump disparaging fallen soldiers came out, Bolton, a Trump detractor, came to the president’s defense saying“Obviously, I can’t prove the negative that he never said those things,” Bolton said. “The president has a habit of disparaging people. He ends up denigrating almost everybody he comes in contact with whose last name is not Trump.”
