Joe Veleno had the first two-goal game of his career, Dylan Larkin supplied a goal and two assists, and the Detroit Red Wings extended their winning streak to four games by downing the host Ottawa Senators 5-2 on Saturday afternoon.
Shayne Gostisbehere and David Perron scored the other goals for Detroit, which tallied three times on the power play. Ville Husso made 35 saves.The first period ended in a tie at 1-1.
Gostisbehere tied it with 1:45 left in the period. Larkin set him up with a pass from behind Ottawa's goal line as Gostisbehere sneaked into the slot. Perron had the second assist. Another power-play goal in the opening minute of the third gave Detroit a 4-1 lead. Larkin scored in the slot, with Gostisbehere and Seider credited with assists.
