"They spent $24 billion last year on the homeless, and what did they spend on preventing these wildfires?" Rogan asked. “Zip.” “In 2019, Newsom said ‘we’re going to take care of the forests, maintain the forests,’ he didn’t do anything,” Gibson said.“It’s all funny and I think all our tax dollars probably went to Gavin’s hair gel,” Gibson jeered.explaining how the state has strengthened forest management and wildfire responses. The state is investing $200 million annually through 208-29 for programs dedicated to fire prevention and healthy forests, according to the release. Gov Newsom, he claimed, acts overly optimistic about his state’s outlook in media appearances.NewsNation on Thursday he returned to California after filming the podcast to the news his Malibu home was "completely toasted." He described the matter as "devastating" and "emotional." President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday called on Gov. Newsom to resign, claiming the fires are his fault. “One of the best and most beautiful parts of the United States of America is burning down to the ground,” Trump wrote on social media platform Truth Social. “It’s ashes, and Gavin Newscum should resign. This is all his fault!!!” Gov. Newsom's office has pushed back on the criticism, telling The National News Desk this week the governor "is focused on protecting people, not playing politics, and making sure firefighters have all the resources they need."
