Rogan claimed the issue appears linked to California’s prioritization of tackling homelessness in the state as opposed to fire protection. "They spent $24 billion last year on the homeless, and what did they spend on preventing these wildfires?" Rogan asked. “Zip.” “In 2019, Newsom said ‘we’re going to take care of the forests, maintain the forests,’ he didn’t do anything,” Gibson said.“It’s all funny and I think all our tax dollars probably went to Gavin’s hair gel,” Gibson jeered.explaining how the state has strengthened forest management and wildfire responses. The state is investing $200 million annually through 208-29 for programs dedicated to fire prevention and healthy forests, according to the release. Rogan continued, arguing the wildfires are a product of poor management of the Golden State. Gov. This is all his fault!!!” Gov. Newsom's office has pushed back on the criticism, telling The National News Desk this week the governor "is focused on protecting people, not playing politics, and making sure firefighters have all the resources they need." The fires have now caused an NBA game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Charlotte Hornets to be postponed as thousands of buildings have been destroyed.
