Joe Philbin will be paid $266,667 in 2023 for his new role as a senior advisor/analyst for Ohio State.following a public records request to Ohio State, will become the highest-paid analyst for the Buckeyes since Ohio State began hiring for the analyst role in 2021. Fellow offensive analyst Todd Fitch, who also holds the title of senior advisor/analyst after a promotion this offseason, will make $250,000 in 2023.
By comparison, Matt Guerrieri was paid $100,000 when he held the title of senior advisor/analyst on the defensive side of the ball for the Buckeyes last year. Fitch was paid just $48,000 as Ohio State’s only offensive analyst last year. It’s no surprise that Philbin would command a higher salary than any of Ohio State’s previous analysts given his coaching background. Philbin brings nearly four decades of coaching experience to the Buckeyes as he has 19 years of NFL coaching experience – including stints as the Miami Dolphins’ head coach , the offensive coordinator of the Green Bay Packers and most recently as the Dallas Cowboys’ offensive line coach – as well as 19 years of collegiate coaching experience.
