Joe Biden has pulled out of the presidential race. Mr Biden had been president since 2021 after he defeated the incumbent Donald Trump. However, the 81-year-old has faced growing criticism in recent weeks following a disastrous debate performance against Mr Trump - the Republican candidate for this year's elections. In the three weeks since the debate he has shrugged off ever-louder calls from within his party to make way for a younger candidate to take on Mr Trump.
