He will become the first child of a sitting U.S. president to be criminally tried when jury selection begins on Monday and has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

A lot of families have loved ones who have overcome addiction and know what we mean,' he said in the statement, according to NBC News' Kelly O'Donnell.He wrote that in his capacity as a president, he will not 'comment on pending federal cases' but that as a father he has 'boundless love for my son, confidence in him, and respect for his strength.
