The Elfsborg boss is set to step into the hot seat as Barry Robson's permanent Pittodrie successor.
Peter Leven knows Jimmy Thelin will be watching Aberdeen’s games and has warned the entire playing squad are all now playing for their Pittodrie futures.
"I've always said to them, you have to perform every day in training and every matchday, because you never know who's watching for you to get a move, or the new manager's watching to come in to keep you.” The likes of Kelle Roos, Connor Barron and Jonny Hayes are all out of contract. Leven admitted he hasn’t been involved in contract discussions and even those under contract could still be a threat.
"Even the boys who are under contract - they need to perform for this next coach coming in, and they need to perform for themselves and the fans right now. Everybody's got a lot to play for."
