Ex-detective Mark Williams-Thomas flew out to Tenerife after offering his help to Debbie Duncan to find her missing son Jay.
A top former British police detective, now working for the distraught family of missing Jay Slater, has expressed gratitude to the public for their "huge response" after he appealed for help.
Writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Friday morning, Mr Williams-Thomas said: "I am grateful for the huge response from the public with information about Jay Slater. Ex-detective and television investigator Mark, also announced the opening of a new hotline number for the public to call with information when he spoke to reporters. He flew out to Tenerife afer reaching out to Jay's mum Debbie Duncan, 55, who accepted his help.

One was slightly bigger and was much more chatty than the other.”
