When the cat’s away, the mice at Jimmy Kimmel Live! will play. Jimmy Kimmel may be on hiatus, leaving his show to a parade of guest host s, but that doesn’t mean he’s left viewers’ hearts. A listing from Jimmy Kimmel Live in search of “actors who need health insurance” is currently making the rounds on Twitter, creating a spike in social media’s rarest resource, optimism. Initially tweeted by user @bestidest, the post calls for “actors who are one role away from qualifying for SAG insurance.
In 2022, again while Kimmel was on vacation, guest host Kerry Washington helped two actors who were one line of dialogue away from retaining coverage. “I’m a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild, or SAG as we say in the biz, but in order to get SAG healthcare, you have to make a certain amount of money each year, which is not always easy to do,” Washington said. “So, we invited a few fellow real actors to the show tonight who are very close to qualifying for coverage.
