The San Francisco 49ers were forced to turn back to Jimmy Garoppolo after starting quarterback Trey Lance was carted off with an ankle injury in the first quarter of their Week 2 match with the Atlanta Falcons. The 49ers already announced won't return to the game.

The San Francisco 49ers were forced to turn back to Jimmy Garoppolo after starting quarterback Trey Lance was carted off with an ankle injury in the first quarter of their Week 2 match with the Atlanta Falcons. TheLance looked to have hurt his ankle on a designed run play on 2nd-and-8 at the Seahawks' 21-yard line. He was immediately given an air cast and carted off the field.
