Jimmy Carter, the oldest living U.S. president, has died at his home in Plains, Georgia, according to his son. Jill Stuckey said they used to have dinners every Saturday night when he was in town. President Jimmy Carter is expected to be laid to rest in his hometown, which is a well-known national park where his best friend is the superintendent of the National Park.

As friends and family are preparing for a future without him, his best friend is mourning his death and sharing memories of their special friendship. Jill Stuckey has been by the Carter's side for the last 30 years after meeting him with her late husband in 1994 at the Cherry Blossom Festival. “They used to come over to my house for dinner every Saturday night that they were in town,” Stuckey said. Photos show the president at her home in Georgia over the years and even after those intimate moments on Saturday nights with the Carters and her late husband. Stuckey said she still gets nervous to speak with the president. “Every time it hasn’t ended,' Stuckey laughed. 'I describe it as giddy and excited every time I get dinner with them.'“One that stands out is we are sitting at the table one day and I looked up and President Carter is carrying out one of my chairs,' Stuckey said. 'I said what are you doing he said its broken, I will bring it back tomorrow. The next morning, he brings back the chair.”“Handyman and a man of the free world,” Stuckey said. “There are just so many aspects of their life,' Stuckey said. 'I think everyone focuses on what they want to focus on and what their interests are.' Stuckey is the superintendent of the Jimmy Carter National Historical Park in Plains, Georgia where the president attended school, which is now a museum.
