Nick Saban’s response to Jimbo Fisher? ‘Maybe … I could do better’

ATLANTA — Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher this spring said Alabama counterpart Nick Saban is a narcissist who believes he’s God. Saban, nonchalant as usual in a media setting, responded that he’ll take Fisher’s contributions into consideration on the road to becoming a better man.
At least not until A&M visits Alabama’s Bryant-Denny Stadium on Oct. 8, according to Crimson Tide All-American linebacker Will Anderson.The issue started when Saban in May declared to a group of business leaders in Birmingham, Ala., that “A&M bought every player on their team — made a deal for name, image and likeness. We didn’t buy one player.”
“There is no competitive sport anywhere that doesn’t have guidelines on how they maintain some kind of competitive balance,” Saban reiterated Tuesday. “That’s important to college football — it’s important to fans.”
