The store will be Jim ‘N Nick’s 16th in Alabama, but the first south of Montgomery.
Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q serves a total of about 52,000 cheese biscuits every day at more than three dozen locations. Jim ‘N Nick’s Community Bar-B-Q, a chain that has spread into five other states since its founding in Birmingham in 1985, will hold a grand opening Tuesday for its first location in Lower Alabama.
Officials of the city of Foley will join Jim ‘N Nick’s CEO Larry Ryback for the festivities, which will take place between 10:30 and 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 2500 S. McKenzie St., across from Tanger Outlets Foley. The company also has restaurants in Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina and Tennessee. Jim ‘N Nick’s is name for founders Jim Pihakis and his son Nick.The restaurant’s barbecue offerings include classic pulled pork, Carolina-style pork, brisket, chicken, smoked turkey breast and ribs. The menu includes burgers, salads and baked potatoes plus an array of sides, aka “trimmings;” these include some wildly popular cheese biscuits.
