Reds boss hails the contribution of his star men

We are at the stage of the season where it's not only the major silverware gets decided but also the standout performers from the season.

In recent recent weeks both Jamie Mulgrew and David Healy have thrown their weight behind Linfield midfielder Kyle McClean for the league's Player of the Year gong. Jim Magilton however feels that several Cliftonville players deserved to be in the discussion following their performances this season with one man in particular getting his backing.

"100% Rory Hale should be in that conversation, as should Jonny Addis and one or two others, but definitely Rory has been outstanding and had a wonderful season for us," said the Reds boss. "I think he has played more 90 minutes with us than in his lifetime and that’s good – it shows how determined he is to make a difference.”While the Reds would love to land some personal accolades their desire is to land some major silveware before the end of the season.

"They absolutely idolise this club...they'll go to the wire with you and they did on Saturday," he said. "They made lots of noise and I'm sure they can't wait for the cup final. It'll be a huge final for us and one to enjoy. The fans will bring the noise I'm sure." Join Belfast Live’s new Irish League WhatsApp group.
