Jack Schlossberg has criticized Ryan Murphy’s JFK Jr. series as “fiction,“ calling it grotesque and profit-driven.

Kennedy, has been outspoken about, which dramatizes the relationship between Kennedy Jr. and Bessette before their deaths in a plane crash in 1999. Speaking on, Schlossberg said Murphy"knows nothing about what he’s talking about" and accused the producer of profiting from a distorted version of his family’s history. "If you want to know someone who’s never met anyone in my family, knows nothing about us, talk to Ryan Murphy," Schlossberg said."The guy knows nothing about what he’s talking about, and he’s making a ton of money on a grotesque display of someone else’s life."In a clear rebuke of the series’ premise, Schlossberg said that, which has turned out to be one of the most-popular and most-talked-about series so far this year, should not be treated as an accurate account of real events. He described the show as"fiction" with a"capital F," underscoring that it is not a documentary and should not be confused with historical fact. Schlossberg has raised concerns about the series for months, voicing objections over the summer before it premiered last month. In theinterview, he again urged Murphy to use the show’s success to support causes linked to the Kennedy legacy rather than continuing to profit from it."I would hope that Mr. Murphy would donate some of the millions of dollars of profits that he’s making to maybe some of the causes that John championed throughout his life," Schlossberg said."Maybe he would donate some of that money to the JFK library to help keep President Kennedy’s memory alive, but he’s not. He’s making money. This is not a documentary."had drawn such a strong reaction when the Kennedy family has been the subject of numerous books, films and television projects, Schlossberg pointed to what he described as a broader misuse of the Kennedy name in recent years. He linked his objections to current political developments involving President Donaldand his first cousin once removed, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is serving as secretary of Health and Human Services. "I think in the last year, two years, three years, partly because of RFK Jr., but also partly because Donald Trump has used JFK as sort of a human punching bag," Schlossberg said. He cited Trump’s decision to rename the Kennedy Center after himself, what he called a false reinvestigation into President Kennedy’s assassination, and the dismantling of programs associated with JFK’s legacy. Schlossberg added that the result has been growing misinformation and confusion about the Kennedy family at a time when clarity matters. "There’s a lot of misinformation now and iconography being used about the Kennedy family, my family, at a time when we really can’t afford to confuse people," he said. Schlossberg added that, if Murphy truly cared about the Kennedy family and about John F. Kennedy Jr., he should focus his energy elsewhere. "We really need to take every breath that we have to try to make things better," he said."So, if Ryan Murphy really cares so much about the Kennedy family, my uncle John, maybe he would try to do something about getting Trump out of power.", Schlossberg also dismissed Trump’s attempt to attach his name to the Kennedy Center, saying it would not endure."He’s trying to kill JFK.in the 2026 elections, has been outspoken about the television series on his Instagram. He voiced the same feelings in a viral reel before the show began streaming.
