Dehart said of the atmosphere on campus, “my head is definitely on a swivel, especially as someone who is very visibly Jewish wearing a yarmulke." A yarmulke is the Yiddish word for a traditional Jewish head covering, also called a "kipah." "I want to be clear, I condemn any messages and posts that celebrate violence against civilians," Cauce said.

“You can of course be supportive of civilians, both Palestinian and Israeli," said another student, who is also Jewish but wanted to stay anonymous due to safety concerns. "But when you come to the support of Hamas and whatnot, you lose all goodwill in regards to that.”
