Jetstar has been hit with a staggering class action case in the Federal Court on behalf of customers who hold COVID travel credits with the airline.

Jetstar hit with class action case over COVID flight credits it does not offer refunds on by same law firm suing Qantas

Jetstar has been hit with a class action case over its COVID flight credits. Picture: NCA NewsWire/Luis Enrique Ascui “Jetstar promotes itself as a values-driven, low fare airline committed to helping ‘more people fly, more often’, yet it’s a highly profitable part of the Qantas Group, and when COVID caused widespread flight cancellations it put those profits ahead of its customers’ interests”, Mr Paull said in a statement.

The case, which is funded by Sydney-based litigation funder Court House Capital, also alleges the COVID credits given to the airline’s customers were of a much lower value than the cash refunds they would have received due to “significant restrictions” placed upon the vouchers. “We’ll review the claims filed in the class action this morning,” a Jetstar spokesperson wrote in a statement.“These vouchers are also multi use, meaning they can be used across multiple bookings and for multiple people.”
