New York Jets assistant Tony Oden had some explaining to do after getting injured during a fight at Wednesday's joint practice and needing a trip to the hospital.
“They asked if I wanted to call [her], I said no,” Oden said, laughing. “She said ‘What were you thinking!?’
He was injured during a contentious practice between the two teams, in which there was a lot of pushing and shoving but no obvious punches thrown. Still, Oden was left lying motionless on the grass for about a minute while he received medical attention and practice was stopped for several minutes, with several concerned Jets looking on, before he was able to get into the front seat of the cart and depart the field.“Nah, I just got tired,” Oden said, “decided I was gonna sit down for a while.
Oden would not reveal the specifics of his injury, despite several inquiries. He said it wasn’t a broken arm. “Above the waist and below the neck,” he said, laughing at the reporters who were trying to get more information out of him.
