The New York Jets lost Aaron Rodgers for the season early in their first game. 10 days later they're still reeling.

Rodgers was hurt trying to avoid Bills edge rusher Leonard Floyd, who blew by left tackle Duane Brown to sack the Jets’ quarterback. Brown had tried, and failed, to slow Floyd with a cut block on the play.

“It’s certainly not Hackett,” Carter said, adding that all the coaches on the offensive staff have done “a bunch of” cut blocking in the past. “That’s an unfortunate injury that just kills me. It’s certainly not Duane’s fault. It’s my fault. Of course, it’s hard to single out any one person to blame in this situation. It was ultimately just an unfortunate set of circumstances, as coach Robert Saleh pointed out after the game. And the end result was the cruelest of all: after preparing for months to play with Rodgers, he was hurt before he could complete a pass.

Carter said he has “every confidence in the world” Brown will play this week. If he isn’t he also downplayed the idea of Mekhi Becton switching to play left tackle, which means that Billy Turner or Max Mitchell would be most likely to replace Brown if he can’t go.
