A JetBlue flight from Boston was met by a massive law enforcement presence at Vero Beach Regional Airport Saturday morning following a bomb threat. The Vero Beach Police Department Airport Police were first alerted by law enforcement in Boston that a threat had been made against a flight departing The plane landed Saturday morning safely and was immediately directed to a stationary position north of the main terminal.
A specialized Bomb Dog Unit from the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office was also called in to lead the sweep. Authorities confirmed that a bomb dog conducted a thorough search of the airplane cabin while passengers remained on board. In an abundance of caution, all passenger luggage was removed from the aircraft and inspected separately by the K9 units. After a detailed sweep, police say the airplane was rendered safe.
