It had set off from Manchester Airport
The flight took off from Manchester Airport on Wednesday evening , but only 30 minutes into the trip, the plane made an unscheduled landing. Whilst over the English Channel, the flight made the U-turn, much to the confusion of the passengers.
According to tracking site, FlightRadar, the plane took off at 5.45pm, before it was due to land at 9pm local time. However, half an hour in and the flight was diverted, circling over the Peak District before landing back in Manchester, the Mirror reports.The airline stated that the unscheduled landing was not an emergency, but in a tweet, admitted it was due to "unforeseen operational reasons.
Quickly, passengers were transferred onto another aircraft and they took off to Ibiza straight away in order to save time. This mystery follows news last week which detailed Jet2's share price sinking by more than a 10th, after announcing its chairman would be stepping down after more than 40 years.
