Transport workers are set to walk out in Italy as people jet away for the school holidays
In the coming days many families will be jetting off on holiday for October half term. But Jet2 has warned passengers flying to Italy on Friday, October 20 that their flights could change due to strike action.
In a statement on its website, Jet2 said: “We have been made aware that there is Italian Transport Strike action taking place on Friday 20th October 2023. Details regarding the impact of strike action are still being finalised by the authorities. A 24-hour strike is planned for Friday with disruption expected to trains, flights and local transport services, The Local Italy reports. It said that the industrial action will be a series of protests up and down the country, and the action was called jointly by four of Italy’s major trade unions, with both the public and private sector affected.
