The event was advertised for Saturday, June 8, 2024.

In a trend that seems to be continuing each summer, officials are fighting to stop another planned “pop-up” party from happening at the Jersey Shore.

The Long Branch Police Department and Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office have identified three of the promoters who originally organized it, Long Branch Mayor John Pallone and Public Safety Director William Broughton said Tuesday in a joint statement. Residents and visitors to the city should expect to see an increased police presence throughout the city on Saturday and all bags and coolers will be checked before visitors walk onto beaches, Broughton said.

The city’s experiences with pop-up parties began in May 2022 when one drew up to an estimated 5,000 people toMost attendees arrived by train, multiple fights were reported among partygoers and “one flash bang and the deployment of smoke,” was used by state Department of Corrections officers assisting at the scene, authorities said.
