Jerry Nadler on Sunday said that having former special counsel Robert Mueller testify last week was not a mistake

House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler on Sunday said having former special counsel Robert Mueller testify last week was not a mistake and that he “broke the lie” President Donald Trump and Attorney General William Barr have been telling the public: No collusion, no obstruction and total exoneration.

“Since his report was issued, the attorney general and the president have misrepresented that report, lied to the American people about it, said that the report said — found no collusion, no obstruction and totally exonerated the president,” the New York Democrat told George Stephanopoulos, host of ABC’s “This Week.”“Now, all those three statements are lies,” Nadler continued.

Mueller’s testimony Wednesday gave lawmakers their first chance to question him since the release of his 448-page report. Given that he offered no stunning revelations, the testimony was widely labeled as a flop, a characterization Nadler disputed. Nadler filed a petition Friday asking a federal judge to release Mueller’s evidence gathered via grand jury. On Sunday, he reiterated that the House has impeachment resolutions before the Judiciary Committee and that the committee is conducting investigations to determine whether they should report them to the House.

“We are considering those resolutions and we will make a determination after we get more evidence as to the president’s crimes that we had from the Mueller report, but also as to other things, as to his violations of the emoluments clause, his failure to defend the — to defend the Constitution against continuing Russian attacks,” he said.
