Jerry Bruckheimer has given fans of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise an update on the upcoming movie, but left them guessing as toThe producer gave fans hope that a follow-up to 2017’s Dead Men Tell No Tales would be in the works very soon.
Jerry told Collider: ‘We’re working on a draft right now and hopefully we’ll get it shortly and give it toThe next movie would be the sixth instalment in the franchise, but Jerry kept tight-lipped on whether Johnny Depp would be back as Jack Sparrow. Jerry kept it vague as he answered: ‘The one we’re developing right now, we’re not sure quite what Johnny’s role is going to be. So, we’re going to have to see.’Johnny has played the fan-favourite character of Jack Sparrow since the start of the franchise, but issues in his personal life have overshadowed his work of late.
The last instalment, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales was a box office hit, amassing almost $800million globally, so the sixth movie being picked up looks pretty likely.
