'I want to be great. I have people to provide for.' JustinM_NFL talked to Jerrod Clark (BigGriizzly15) about his imposing skill set, the importance of stuffing the run, his pass-rush arsenal, and more. NFLDraft
is a dominant presence. Clark is an extremely powerful player that defeats single blocks with consistency. Clark utilizes core power and natural strength to neutralize double-team block attempts. Clark is versatile enough to play the zero and 1-technique positions.
JM: You did just that. You’re one of the most dominant run-stoppers in the 2023 NFL Draft. What do you enjoy about stopping the run? Double teams feel like a two-part process whereas a single block is a one-part process. I’m just dominating the man in front of me. I have to win that one-on-one. That’s how I look at it. Double teams are more about not getting knocked off the ball. Don’t give up any yards. My goal is to still collapse the gap even though I’m getting double-teamed.
I love attacking both the A and B gaps. If I get a chance to play in the B gap, that’s great because sometimes you get a two-way go when you’re lined up in the B gap. With that A gap, you have to primarily stay within that gap even though the B gap might be open because you know your linebacker is filling that gap. You have to follow certain rules with both.
JM: That’s evident when watching your film. You measured in at 6-foot-3, 334 pounds with arms longer than 33 inches. How do you use your terrific arm length to your advantage?
