San Miguel Beer guard Jericho Cruz has been in the PBA long enough to know that winning championships require more than just scoring.
The 33-year-old Filipino-Guamanian guard remains at the top of his game as he enters his ninth season in the pro league. But with the keenly-awaited comeback of Terrence Romeo, along with the acquisition of Jeron Teng off free agency, Cruz sees himself as someone who can be a facilitator and team leader as the Beermen shoot for their 29th league title entering the PBA Season 48.'It's being a role player, guiding my new teammates.
For one, six-time league June Mar Fajardo and CJ Perez are coming off solid stints with Gilas in the 2023 FIBA World Cup and the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.Their high basketball confidence is expected to spill over to SMB, which will have Tyler Stone as its import.But like any true-blue professional, Cruz understands his role and intends to stay locked in once the season begins.
