"It just missed every vertebrae, didn't hit any organs, didn't hit my brain, didn't swell, nothing like that. My eye did pop out, that's weird," the 52-year-old actor said. "But I got pretty lucky that none of my organs got messed up. It pierced my liver but that wasn't dangerous."Kimmel asked if he had a collapsed lung, to which Renner said:"Yeah, that's fine. I've got another one.
Near the end of his interview, the actor likened his recovery process to fulfilling a New Year’s resolution: “I did drop like 20 pounds, I quit smoking—now that’s easy, easiest way to quit smoking," he said, adding that he's really happy to be alive.
