Despite all of that, Jeremiah Smith made it clear Tuesday evening that he has no interest in leaving Ohio State and entering the NCAA transfer portal. The former No. 1 overall recruit in the class of 2024 battled injuries this past season, yet still managed to catch 87 passes for 1,243 yards and 12 touchdowns. As a freshman in 2024, Smith hauled in 76 passes for 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns, helping the Buckeyes win a national title. Some Ohio State fans were worried that the Miami native might enter the transfer portal and play what is expected to be his last season of college football elsewhere in 2026.
