Blending families is no easy feat, but it’s all the more manageable when you are working with supportive and open co-parents. Luckily for Jennifer Lopez, she’s got “amazing co-parent,” Jennifer Garner, in her corner., Lopez—newly married to iconic 2000s beau Ben Affleck—opens up about blending families and how she and Affleck are learning from each other and working together to be the best support system for their kids as possible.
"The transition is a process that needs to be handled with so much care,” Lopez says, an effort that requires attention not just from Affleck and the kids but from coparents Garner and Mark Anthony too.actress says that Garner—mom to Samuel, 10, and daughters Seraphina, 13, and Violet, 16— is “an amazing co-parent, and they work really well together.” In contrast, things are a little more difficult with 14-year-old twins Max and Emme’s dad Mark Anthony.
Big on prioritizing blending their families from the beginning, Lopez says that a collaborative and supportive environment is her ultimate goal. “What I hope to cultivate with our family is that his kids have a new ally in me and my kids have a new ally in him,” Lopez told Vogue. “Someone who really loves and cares about them but can have a different perspective and help me see things that I can’t see with my kids because I’m so emotionally tied up.
