The PSNI release CCTV of Jennifer arriving home bare-foot then killer Raymond O’Neill arriving at her gate
The family of murdered Jennifer Dornan told today how her death “plays over and over in our minds”. They issued a statement as “callous” killer Raymond O’Neill was handed a 22 year sentence for the West Belfast woman’s 2015 murder.
He was back in court on Friday and attended the Tariff Hearing via a videolink with Maghaberry, where he was informed he will serve a minimum jail term of 22 years in prison before he is considered eligible for release by the Parole Commissioners. During the Tariff Hearing, Mr Justice Scoffield referenced CCTV footage which was played during the trial. The footage - which was captured on a camera installed at a house in Hazel View - showed Jennifer walking home from a friend’s house following a night out.
In a statement issued through police by the Dornan and Donnelly families told how Jennifer’s deaths “plays over and over in our minds”. “It is nearly seven years since Jennifer was killed. To us, it feels like it was yesterday. We cannot stop thinking about the fear Jennifer must have felt. What he did plays over and over in our minds.
Detective Superintendent Eamonn Corrigan added: “Jennifer’s body was found in her Hazel View home in the early hours of Sunday 2 August 2015. “This was an atrocious, senseless and cold-blooded attack. It left a family devastated and three young children - two boys and a girl - without their mother.
