Actress and dancer Jenna Dewan will host the opening night VIP celebration for the LA Art Show, which will benefit the American Heart Association's Life is Why campaign and the California Community Foundation's Wildlife Recovery Fund. The event will feature a live mural by Robert Vargas, entertainment, cuisine, and beverages from local businesses.
The multi-hyphenate has been booked to host the VIP opening night celebration for the annual art fair, set to take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Feb. 19. LA Art Show runs Feb. 20-23, and tickets arefor purchases with 15 percent of purchase price for every ticket sold going to support the American Heart Association’s Life is Why campaign.
The fair has another philanthropic endeavor lined up. In the wake of L.A.’s catastrophic wildfires, the LA Art Show will donate to the California Community Foundation’s Wildlife Recovery Fund, and ticket buyers will have an option to support fundraising efforts at time of purchase. There’s more: Firefighters and their families will be allowed entrance to the fair free of charge as a thank you.
In a statement, Dewan said she’s proud to take on hosting duties and help the fair celebrate this milestone contribution to the city’s arts and culture landscape. “The people of our magical city are hurting and I am especially honored to be supporting an event that is raising much needed funds for two essential philanthropic organizations, the American Heart Association and the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund.
Added Kassandra Voyagis, producer and director of LA Art Show: “This year is one like never before, as endless numbers of Angelenos, many who make a living from their art, are suffering from unimaginable losses as a result of the catastrophic wildfires last month.
