Authorities are looking for a man who was seen abusing a 10-week-old puppy at a McDonald's on Sunday. “The injuries to this puppy’s feet indicate the puppy had been dragged for an extended period... We are not sure if his nail beds will ever recover.'
According to a statement from GBHS, witnesses saw between 7:45 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. a man dragging a small puppy by a leash across the restaurant parking lot. The witnesses said as the man approached the door to McDonald’s, he “continually suspended the puppy in the air, slung the puppy into a wall near the door, and then kicked it.”
The puppy could barely stand and couldn’t walk, Cornelius said. The GBHS Emergency On-Call Animal Control Officer met the deputy and immediately took the puppy to Steel City Emergency Clinic. Luke is a 10-week-old Beagle and hound mix. Luke sustained severe injuries to his feet, pads, and nail beds during the abuse.
Cornelius said that GBHS offers up to $10,000 to people that provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of a person abusing an animal, saying the witnesses from McDonald’s are “definitely eligible for reward funds.”
