Guitarist Jeff Beck died Tuesday at 78 years old.
Beck, lauded by many as one of the greatest guitarists of all time,"peacefully passed away," said his family. They reported that a sudden infection of bacterial meningitis caused his death.
“It is with deep and profound sadness that we share the news of Jeff Beck’s passing," his family said in a statement. The family further asked for privacy as it deals with Beck's death.Beck shot to fame during his tenure in the English rock band the Yardbirds. The band was inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in 1992. He was also inducted as a solo artist in 2009.
