Vice President JD Vance calls out Fox News, saying it has the “worst polling.“
Vice President JD Vance told Fox News host Martha MacCallum on Tuesday that he and President Donald Trump"always think Fox News has the worst polling."give Democrats a chance to claw back seats two years after Trump returned to the White House.
Republicans also seized control of the Senate upon Trump's second term and held onto a narrow House majority, prompting Democrats to debate what went wrong in 2024, and how to reset their messaging and leadership., the host brought up a January Fox News poll to Vance. The survey of 1,005 registered voters, conducted from January 23 to January 26, shows that if the midterm elections were today, 52 percent of voters would support a Democratic candidate in their House district, whereas 46 percent would support a Republican. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. MacCallum said to Vance,"We got a long way to go. But obviously, that number would not be good for the majority."The vice president responded:"I will say, as much as we love Fox News, we always think Fox News has the worst polling. Me and the president agree on that. I'm sorry, it's true." The Trump administration has maintained a close relationship with Fox News, with the president frequently citing the network’s coverage and commentary on social media and regularly using Fox as a preferred venue for interviews. The ties extend into government: Trump has tapped several former Fox hosts, contributors and commentators for senior roles, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who co-hostedTrump's White House has repeatedly called out polls not favoring the administration as being rigged, having said last year in a Truth Social post about approval rating polls from, "They are negative criminals who apologize to their subscribers and readers after I win elections big, much bigger than their polls showed I would win, loose a lot of credibility, and then go on cheating and lying for the next cycle, only worse."
