“We really don’t know,” Pearl said when asked about Williams’ availability for Auburn’s game against Miami on Sunday. “He was playing well too, right?”
The collision with Kessler came with 14:28 to play and Auburn ahead by 22. Kessler attempted to block a shot, when his elbow caught Williams in the mouth. Williams immediately fell to the court, covering his mouth. Kessler walked to the baseline, checking his elbow, bloodied from the blow to Williams’ teeth.
According to the TruTV broadcast, Kessler required stitches on his elbow. He returned to the game with a protective sleeve over his right arm and finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds and nine blocks.
