Jaylen Brown, Celtics Still Have 'Work To Be Done' On Supermax Negotiations - RealGM Wiretap
The Boston Celtics and Jaylen Brown worked on negotiating a five-year, $295 million supermax contract, but no deal has been reached after more than 10 days.
One league source told that “there is work to be done.” League sources said that there is confidence and hope that an agreement will be reached soon. The Celtics are believed to be offering Brown the full five-year max, but the hold-up is most likely over a fifth-year player option and/or a trade kicker. Brown is not eligible for a no-trade clause as players need eight years of service and he has only completed seven. Brown, however, could negotiate a trade kicker worth up to 15 percent of his salary.
