Jay Leno jokes about being a 'roast comic' in return to standup stage
"I never thought of myself as a roast comic," the former talk show host quipped at the event.Clubgoers arrive at Leno's standup gig on Sunday, Nov. 27.He returned to the stage just two weeks after experiencing a traumatic gasoline fuel fire in his garage on Sunday.The"Leno's Garage" star suffered painful burns on his face, chest and hands in the fire.He seemed to be in high spirits, even teasing that he “needs barbecue” to reporters as he pulled into his garage.
“Hangin’ in! Everything’s fine — everything’s good,” Leno replied to photographers who asked him how he was doing. Leno looked joyful as he arrived for his standup show in Manhattan Beach at the Comedy and Magic Club on Nov. 27.He stated: “I get on the phone with Jay… this is how crazy Jay is, he’s completely crazy. He doesn’t want sympathy. You know how he is, he’s beast mode. He’s like [football running back] Marshawn Lynch.
