Ted Lasso season 4's potential Jason Sudeikis return has been given a positive update by Warner Bros. TV Group Chairman and CEO Channing Dungey. The sports comedy-drama, developed by Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Joe Kelly and Brendan Hunt, debuted on Apple TV+ in August 2020 to critical acclaim, earning 61 Primetime Emmy nominations, and running three seasons and 34 episodes before concluding in May 2023.
“We are in conversations about season four, and they are very exciting conversations, but it’s still early days. We had always been clear that we there wasn’t going to be more ‘Ted Lasso’ if Jason and team weren’t feeling excited about it, and I can tell you firsthand that he’s in a place where he’s feeling really excited and feels good about it”
Variety also confirmed back in August that Warner Bros. picked up options on three of the key actors, Hannah Waddingham, Jeremy Swift, and Brett Goldstein, meaning there are at least three characters who will definitely return for Ted Lasso season 4. And now, from Dungey's comments, it feels as though it will only be a matter of time before Sudiekis joins them.
