Jason Segel, who played Marshall Eriksen on the hit sitcom HowIMetYourMother, says he would cameo on Hulu's spinoff HowIMetYourFather: 'Those people changed my life. I would do anything they ever asked me to.'
The How I Met Your Father cameos might keep on rolling, as Jason Segel confirms that he would be willing to appear on the series. Segel played Marshall Eriksen opposite Alyson Hannigan as Lily Aldrin, Neil Patrick Harris as Barney Stinson, Josh Radnor as Ted Mosby, and Cobie Smulders as Robin Scherbatsky on the original hit sitcom How I Met Your Mother, which ran on CBS from 2005 to 2014.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY While speaking with Entertainment Tonight about his new Apple TV series Shrinking with Harrison Ford, Segel touches upon his connection with the How I Met Your Mother universe. The show has already featured several cameos from original cast members, and he reveals that he would absolutely agree to reprise the role of Marshall if he was asked to do so by the show's producers.
Every How I Met Your Mother Cameo in How I Met Your Father Explained So far, only two main How I Met Your Mother cast members have appeared on How I Met Your Father. The show seems to be doling them out slowly, both because of scheduling and in the interest of keeping the new ensemble of characters front and center. Season 1's big cameo featured Smulders returning as Robin to have a heart-to-heart with Duff's character Sophie.
How I Met Your Father has also featured a few cameos from recurring characters in the How I Met Your Mother universe. These cameos include Twin Peaks star Kyle MacLachlan returning as The Captain, the character he played on seven episodes who became a romantic obstacle to Ted when his crush Zoey Pierson was revealed to be married to him. The spinoff series also featured Laura Bell Bundy as Becky, The Captain's third wife who she played for five episodes on the original series.
Although How I Met Your Father has already pulled off its fair share of cameos, there are still three major stars left to go if they want to include every single original main HIMYM cast member. This does seem to be the plan, as the creators have previously revealed that they have storylines in mind for each of the main characters. However, it seems that Segel's beloved character Marshall may not be appearing this season, as his quote would indicate that they have not yet reached out to him.
