Jason Oppenheim and his Oppenheim Group real estate brokerage are providing pro bono services to individuals displaced by the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.

Jason Oppenheim and his Oppenheim Group real estate brokerage are offering free services to help individuals displaced by the Los Angeles wildfires. Oppenheim announced the initiative on Instagram, stating that any agents from his company will represent clients for free or refund any commission received in a transaction if they've lost their homes in the fires and need to find a place to rent.

He explained that the idea came after many clients and friends reached out needing help finding temporary housing. Oppenheim also urged other real estate agents in the city to join the effort and help the community during this difficult time. Several of his employees, including Alexandra Jarvis, Davina Potratz, Mary Fitzgerald Bonnet, Polly Brindle, and Chrishell Stause, expressed their willingness to help in the comments section. The wildfires, which broke out in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood on January 7, have caused mass devastation. As of publication, 11 people have died, over 37,000 acres have burned, and more than 12,000 structures have been destroyed. Tens of thousands of residents have been forced to flee their homes. Oppenheim lamented the subsequent real estate struggles he faced, noting examples of landlords increasing rents by over 30 percent in the wake of the disaster. He and Stause both condemned these practices as taking advantage of the natural disaster
