Hollywood star Jason Momoa is urging tourists to cancel their trips to Maui, telling holidaymakers their presence was not 'needed on an island that is suffering this deeply” as the death toll of Hawaii's catastrophic wildfires continues to climb.
The Honolulu-born actor took to Instagram to urge visitors to give the Maui community time to “heal, grieve and restore.”

Picture: Getty Images. “Do not book a hotel stay. The American Hotel & Lodging Association and Hawaii Hotel Alliance are working with hotels in other parts of Hawaii to house displaced residents. Survivors are the priority.
The wildfires are Hawaii's deadliest natural disaster since the 1960 tsunami which hit Big Island and the death toll is expected to continue rising with an estimated 1000 people still unaccounted for.
