Jarvis Wilson has been approved as the new girls’ head basketball coach at Ramsay in Birmingham after four years at Sparkman, where he led the Senators to a Class 7A runner-up finish in 2023 and three area championships.
Wilson’s wife, Kimberly, has been commuting from Harvest to a job in the Birmingham for about a year, he said, which made the decision easier. “I was approved by the school board on Tuesday night and resigned from Sparkman on Wednesday morning. I just feel it is the right time for my family and me to come back to Birmingham City Schools to a school that I consider the standard of the school system.
“I will meet the team today to introduce my vision and get to know what the exceptional scholar-athletes at Ramsay want and expect from the program before I meet the parents on Monday,” he said.
